Q: Is it possible to gain access to video recordings of version 1.0’s performance works?
Yes. version 1.0 has a range of high quality DVDs of performance works and performance texts that are available for sale, and an order form can be downloaded here [pdf file].
Some performance texts are also available to purchase from the Australian Script Centre (www.ozscript.org), and CMI (A Certain Maritime Incident) was published in the journal Australasian Drama Studies (Volume 48, April 2006: pages 143-176). Six DVDs of performances by version 1.0 are also in the library collection at the Live Art Development Agency in London (www.thisisliveart.co.uk).
Q: I’ve written a political play about a white-hot topical issue. version 1.0 makes political theatre. Will version 1.0 produce my play?
No. version 1.0 does not commission writers or produce pre-existing plays. version 1.0 instead produces all of its performance work through a research and devising process that involves the core company artists. While this collaborative process may result in the production of a performance text, this is not the product of a single writer, or the product of a writer from outside the devising company.
Q: Are version 1.0’s company artists available to conduct workshops?
Yes. contact us directly to set up workshops, talks, or lecture demonstrations from version 1.0’s company artists.
Q: How can I audition for version 1.0 productions?
version 1.0 is a collaborative group of nine company artists, and as such does not conduct auditions for its performance projects. From time to time new artists are given the opportunity to work with the company on particular projects, but these are almost always artists who have worked with the company before, or have participated in workshops or secondments with the company over several projects.
Q: Is it possible to do an internship or secondment with version 1.0?
Yes. From time to time version 1.0 hosts interns and secondments on the company’s projects, dependant of course upon the project’s timeline. See here for our internship policy and application form.
