    seven kilometres north-east is an award winning performance from version 1.0’s Kym Vercoe, exploring the discomforting entanglements of place, tourism and atrocity.

    The production has been adapted for a feature film, For Those Who Can Tell No Tales, directed by award-winning Bosnian filmmaker Jasmila Žbanić. The film is currently on the International film festival circuit. To view a trailer of the film click here.

    In September 2012, a young man fell from the sky over an affluent suburb in West London. José Matada had recently texted a friend that he was ‘travelling to Europe for a better life’. Found dead on the street with a single pound coin and a mobile phone in his pocket, Matada had fallen from the undercarriage of Flight BA76 from Angola.

    In January 2014, version 1.0 began a creative process of investigating the story of stowaway José Matada and the hope that drove him to take such an extraordinary risk. For more details click here.

    Beautiful One Day - Melbourne premiere

    Beautiful One Day is a poignant and powerful documentary theatre work about the irrepresible life and times of Palm Island. The work is a co-production between Iljiberri Theatre Company, Belvoir and version 1.0.

    The work had its world premiere at Belvoir at the end of 2012 and more recently premiered in Melbourne at the Arts House in November 2013. The cast and crew received a standing ovation for their final moving performance. Read what the critics had to say here.
